The Leones have always loved Christmas, but this year is different. After the death of a close loved one, Marcus is having a difficult time getting into the Christmas spirit. His grief is causing insomnia, and trying to prepare for the Christmas show without sleep is challenging.

Marissa is facing her own troubles that make Christmas difficult for her, as well. Being stalked by a man seeking revenge and blamed for her ex-husband’s death is hard for her to endure. But powering through difficult situations has become second nature to her.

When a last minute trip to Chicago gets them caught in a snowstorm, they’re forced to extend their stay. Will they make it home in time for their Christmas performance? Can Marissa’s love ease the pain of Marcus’ grieving heart? Will Christmas ever be the same?

Marcus Leone is a typical schoolboy growing up in Chicago. He comes from a middle class family and his parents both work to make ends meet. He and his father have a very close bond, spending most of their free time together. Marcus is a very shy boy and only feels comfortable around his best friend, Zach, and his family.

What sets him apart from other boys his age is his dream of becoming a famous dance star when he grows up. He takes his dance lessons very seriously and has a strong passion for dance. His talent stands out above the others in the class and his dance instructor proclaims him her best student.

On his path to stardom, tragedy strikes and shakes his world. He's forced to grow up too soon and his life is forever changed. The once happy boy is suddenly broken. Can a twelve year old boy pick up the pieces and continue to pursue his dream, or will he abandon his passion?

 

The Path to Stardom is a Prequel to The Dancer Series.

The story takes place prior to Star Dancer and showcases Marcus as a child growing up in Chicago with his family.
